Established in 1983, ATEC Marketing Limited (SkippingRopes.com) was founded by Susan and Andy Kalbfleisch in Ancaster, Ontario. Susan was a school teacher who was concerned by the poor quality of jump ropes and resources available to students. Andy, her husband, was an engineer and saw an opportunity to develop a high-quality locally-made jump rope. Together they designed and developed a line of high quality jump ropes, resources, and instructional materials to promote the benefits of jump rope. The business expanded and they were soon shipping and promoting jump ropes and resources around the world.

Andy and Sue have since retired but passed own the company to Elizabeth, their daughter, who continued the legacy started by her parents.
In 2022, the company was purchased by Shannon Fox. Shannon started her jump rope career in 1989 as a member of the Hamilton Hoppers, coached by Sue (Mrs. K).
Shannon Fox is a respected coach, studio owner, and jump rope expert known for her deep understanding of rope performance, durability, and athlete needs. As the Head Coach of the Jumpsations Rope Skipping Team, she works closely with athletes across all skill levels, giving her firsthand insight into how different jump ropes impact speed, control, and longevity in both training and competition.
Shannon is also the owner of a dedicated jump rope studio that she has grown into a thriving community of over 150 members. Through years of coaching and daily hands-on use, she has developed extensive knowledge of different styles of ropes, with a strong focus on quality materials and consistent performance.
Her experience allows her to confidently evaluate rope construction, design, and overall durability—ensuring athletes train with equipment that enhances technique and stands up to high-volume use. Passionate about quality and education, Shannon is committed to helping athletes and coaches select the right rope for their goals while elevating standards within the sport.

Often copied by competitors, SkippingRopes.com continues to evolve and innovate in the jump rope space. In addition to its physical products, we have also developed instructional programs and curriculum designed to be delivered online.
